Euonymous are an evergreen or deciduous shrub which have either plain or variegated leaves. They are relatively small at at one to one and a half metres in height.

Plain-leaved Euonymous is one of the few shrubs which thrives in full sun, part shade and even full shade, however variegated types will need more sun. It is also happy in any soil type and situation as long as it is well-drained.

Variegated types often have a habit of attempting to revert to plain, with this being more likely the less sun the shrub is exposed to. To maintain the variegation, the plain-leaved branches can be pruned out from the growth point.
