Heucherella is a hybrid between Heuchera and Tiarella, which produces a clump-forming perennial with aspects of both.
The plants are hardy to survive particularly cold winters, and capable of thriving in full sun or part shade. They do require loam or sand soil types as well as neutral conditions.
Division of mature clumps should be made every few years as when left, they can become straggly and unkempt.
Care should be taken to remove dead leaves and flower heads to reduce the risk from vine weevils and Rust diseases.
A wide range of Heucherella varieties are available.
