Hypericum cover a range of plants which include annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees. They can also be evergreen or deciduous. Across these plants they mostly share similar traits such as paired leaves and showy yellow flowers.
The flowers usually appear throughout summer and into autumn. Although they can survive in part shade, they do best in locations with full sun and sheltered. Any soil type can be used as long as it is free draining.
Propagation of the plants can be done via semi-hardwood cuttings taken in summer.
