Shrubs for Wildlife

This page lists shrubs which are particularly beneficial for wildlife in the UK.

Most bees are attracted to shrubs for their flowers for nectar. Many shrubs flower and will attract bees, however those listed below are particularly good.

Butterflies also like to take nectar, however they will only do this from certain shrubs with flowers that have nectar they can access.

Birds often use shrubs for two purposes. The first for nesting with large, dense shrubs being preferred. Secondly, fruiting shrubs are beneficial due to the berries they produce.
