Tellima is a herbaceous perennial which forms in clumps as with Heuchera, Tiarella, and Heucherella. It is also known as fringe cup. Of the other three listed, Tellima is not as commonly found in garden centres.
Plants can be positioned in full sun, part shade, or even deeper shade. They are also happy in any soil except clay as lost of the soil remains damp but well-drained.
The plants propagate readily by seed with overwintering in a cold frame. Mature plants can also be divided in Spring.
Slugs can be problematic for Tellima as the leaves are often attacked.
