Pilot

Guy Starling, a middle-aged business man under heavy stress is facing the biggest day of his career as he tries to close the biggest deal in the history of Maidstone. Heading into a software house that develops mobile games for adults, though he encounters an eleven year-old who appears in his office playing keepie-ups with a football. He discovers that no one else can see or hear the child who is named Hennikay - and happens to be Guy's imaginary friend from his lonely childhood. Neither of them know why Hennikay is there, and his boss Tony comes to believe he is having another breakdown.

Series 1

1. Close Contact Paint-based Combat Maneuvers

Tony decides to treat the company to a day paintballing and breaks the news to Guy by waking him up at five o'clock in the morning, while he is also still being visited by Hennikay who is disappointed at the lack of human progress since Guy was a child. At the paintballing event with Tony, Marika, and Kallie, the team are pitted against another company - Snippy Snips - while Guy sets about using his initiative before being promptly shot by Hennikay. With Tony soon knocked out of the game, Guy accidentally ends up shooting Kallie but ultimately leads them to victory against the odds. However, Kallie sets about stealing Hennikay's idea for a mobile paintballing strategy game while the company gets some bad news.

2. Grown Up Stuff

Taking to playing the guitar, Hennikay wakes up Guy after he somehow manages to order the instrument and finds out that Guy never managed to setup a band with his friends as he thought he might as a child. The pair also find a woman - Nikita - in Bill's bed with the pair of them not remembering each other. Tony meanwhile turns up revealing he is in trouble with wife Marissa who wants to know what he was up to, and she is on her way over to question Guy. As Guy struggles under Marissa's tough questioning, Tony takes to hiding in the bedroom with Nikita before being promptly caught under the bed, while Hennikay can only suggest that they use the excuse of playing hide and seek.

3. The Animo-Expo-Pro-Gaming Trade Fair

Hennikay wakes up Guy at six thirty in the morning while watching cartoons. Guy sets about putting in some rules as he continues to try and work out what Hennikay is still doing there. Heading to work, Tony has decided to rename the boardroom the "War Room" as the company continues its battles with Donald Becker and Investitech after he stole their game idea. With a gaming trade fair coming up at the weekend, Tony demands they release a game they haven't yet written and with Guy being looked at as the man to fix the problem with Kallie hoping to take the credit anyway. As Guy is late in the office, Marika catches him talking to himself while Hennikay gets to experience the internet for the first time.

4. Going Home

Guy is struggling to put up with a bored Hennikay while working on an idea for a new computer game. Marika and Tony meanwhile set about confronting him about talking to himself and believe he is having another breakdown. Guy reveals his situation with Hennikay with Marika suggesting he take some time off work as Tony instead announces that the company has gone bust. Guy also tries to ignore Hennikay after following Marika's advice and takes his mother up on the opportunity to visit his childhood home. His mother has news of her leaving to join her new boyfriend in Switzerland while Guy tries to convince her it is a scam. While in the house, Guy also discovers that his mother can see and hear Hennikay.
