1. The Threshold
Newlywed George has arrived at work but can't help but ring wife Kate who is back at home preparing to clean the house yet again, going on to suggest they go out in the evening. His personal life is intertwined with his colleagues at work suggesting that his outlook will change soon once he settles into married life. He is particularly badgered by Miles who enquires as to whether he is joining them at the pub as promised and suggests he is chained by Kate already. He also discovers she has scheduled them for dinner with her mother the following night which has him demanding to be left off the hook, which results in an argument and Kate heading to the cinema by herself. George takes to the pub where he encounters Miles who again manages to get in his head about Kate's visiting the cinema alone.
