The Goldfish Bowl
Episode 1
Anton and Liam are two Goldfish who contemplate life both in and out of their bowl. Meanwhile, owners Martin and Susan are on the brink of divorce when Martin suggests she is a bit critical at times in front of friends. The events threaten to turn the small world of the Goldfish upside down as Anton has become particularly bored with his life and all the things he has never had the opportunity to do. Martin and Susan however manage to resolve their differences however as do the fish.
Episode 2
The fish take to having a "wet stroll" as Martin discovers a letter from the bank and laments that he wasn't taught anything useful in school. Susan observes the fish seemingly enjoying their simple life, while Anton and Liam discuss the perils of learning. Susan also has worries about Martin when she finds a piece of paper with a woman's phone number along with the finding that he went out for a drink with her. As the couples relationship begins to desolve, Susan announces she is pregnant.
Episode 3
Martin is feeling unwell after spending a night out drinking prior to the baby arriving, while Anton is also feeling depressed with his own hangover despite having not left the bowl. The situation is also made worse by Liam's constant upbeat attitude. Susan has turned angry and horny due to her emotions, which has Anton irritated at their antics which they can see. The couple also take to trying to pick a name for their baby when it arrives.
Episode 4
Liam spots that Martin is up early, while Anton reveals that it is Susan's birthday. The fish also have a rude start to the day when Martin moves the goldfish bowl. Susan ruins Martin's plans for breakfast in bed, and is in the bad books, when reminding her it is her fortieth. A strip-o-gram which Martin forgot to cancel also goes badly and his gag gift of a voucher, and real present of a trip around Europe falls flat.
Episode 5
Liam startles Anton awake with news that Martin's mother is coming to stay, along with her fish Pandora who is plonked into the bowl alongside them. Anton suggests Liam be careful with her and his thoughts on asking her out, having been put out by her gawdy bowl ornaments which have also arrived. Pandora however sets about turning Anton, while Martin's mother discovers that Susan has broken up with him after he had an affair.
Episode 6
Liam is upset at the breakup of Martin and Susan, who are continuing to argue as he picks up his belongings. Anton meanwhile is feeling depressed having been shacked up with Liam for so long, and takes to squatting in the plastic castle. The goldfish imagine a courtroom scenario in which Anton is tried for squatting and general bad behaviour, as Martin prepares to leave the house. However, at the last minute there is somewhat a reconciliation until Martin makes a mistake.
Episode 7
Liam is in a tender and delicate state after spotting Susan coming home from another night out. Taking to morning vodka despite being pregnant, the fish are annoyed at not having had their water changed. Martin is also due around which has the goldfish talking about their dreams as he turns up early. Anton also reveals his resentment towards Susan and his earlier years. While Susan is cooking dinner, Martin answers the phone to discover that Susan's father has had a heart attack.
Episode 8
Preparing to attend her fathers funeral and with divorce drawing close, the fish notice that Susan appears sad. With things going terribly at the funeral, the fish get forgotten and eventually die which has Susan recall how they got together and their symbolisation of their relationship. As they patch things up, Martin suggests getting two new goldfish which will represent their future, while Liam and Anton are reincarnated as themselves while Martin has a surprise future plan for Susan.
