Death Ship

Space cruiser E-89, manned by Captain Paul Ross, Lieutenant Ted Mason, and Lieutenant Mike Carter, identify a planet which appears to have a metallic object on the surface. The men discover a land with rivers and trees and deciding to land and investigate, encounter another ship which is a carbon copy of their own. However, upon boarding the duplicate vessel, they discover their own bodies and can only come to the conclusion that a warp in space-time is allowing them to view the future.

Pattern for Doomsday

An asteroid is spotted approaching Earth and with the expectation that it will destroy humanity, eight people are chosen by a complex computer program seemingly at random. Taken by government agents to a facility, Jody Hallams meets the other seven people selected and finds that each of them are seemingly normal people, though have apparently been chosen for having the best qualities to survive and repopulate. However, as preparations are made for the selected to board a spaceship, it is revealed that there is space for just six of the selected on the trip, leading to a reckoning for Jody.

Nightmare as a Child

School teacher Helen Foley returns to her apartment to find a small child named Markie waiting on the steps. Markie seems to know Helen, though the feeling isn't reciprocated. Markie also attempts to get Helen to remember a man she saw earlier in the day, who turns out to be Peter Selden. Selden also arrives at the apartment and recalls that he worked for Helen's mother and was the first to find her murdered body. When Selden leaves, Markie reveals who he really is and what his intentions are.

And When the Sky Was Opened

Two pilots are taken to hospital after the crash of test plane X-6. Colonel Clegg Forbes attempts find friend and co-pilot Major William Gart who has suffered a broken leg during the incident. Forbes however has more pressing concerns, that best friend Colonel Ed Harrington was also on the flight, but there is no record of him. In flashbacks, Clegg recalls Harrington saying he felt like he didn't belong. Clegg also begins to feel the same way and realises that he himself casts no reflection in a mirror.

Little Girl Lost

Chris and Ruth Miller are awoken in the night to shouts from the young daughter Tina. Venturing into her bedroom, they can still hear her, but are unable to find where she is. Their dog Mack runs under the bed and also disappears, but can still be heard barking. With help from physicist friend Bill, they discover that the bedroom wall features a portal to another fourth dimension which Tina and Mack have entered. The situation sets about a race against time for Chris to rescue his daughter and pet as the portal begins to close.

Jess-Belle

Jess-Belle is determined that her ex-partner Billy-Ben Turner and fiancée Ellwyn Glover should not marry. Enlisting the help of local witch Granny Hart who is keen to indicate that she is not a witch, Jess-Belle obtains a potion from Granny which she hopes will ensure Billy-Ben only has eyes for herself. The potion, much like Granny's previous providings of help to local people, has a catch which means that Jess-Belle will never be able to spend a night with her love and that she will eventually become a witch.

The Encounter

Second world war veteran Fenton is in his attic when he discovers the samurai sword he took from a Japanese soldier. He is disturbed by Arthur Takamori, a young Japanese-American who is looking for work. The two discuss the sword, with Fenton's racist and bitter side coming out, while Takamori begins to feel influenced by the sword which seeks revenge. The two become hostile towards each other where their histories are brought to the fore and confronted.

A World of His Own

Playwright Gregory West is spotted flirting with a woman named Mary by his wife Victoria. When he is confronted by Victoria about the situation, Gregory reveals that he is able to conjure up characters when speaking into his dictation machine, and send them away again by burning the portion of tape in which he describes the character. Victoria however refuses to believe the story and threatens to have Gregory committed, until he reveals that Victoria's life is not what it seems.

The New Exhibit

Martin Senescu works as a curator at a wax museum. When attendance dwindles, the owner sets about selling the building and figures. Martin's pride-and-joy are the figures of "murderer's row" which consist of Jack the Ripper, Albert W. Hicks, Henri Désiré Landru, William Burke and William Hare. Offering his basement as a store for the figures he devotes his life to maintaining, Martin takes them home, with much displeasure from his wife Emma who hates having them in the house - and with valid reason.

Valley of the Shadow

Journalist Philip Redfield is travelling along a road when they turn at a fork and land in the quiet town of Peaceful Valley. Pulling in to refuel, Rowdy gives chase to a cat with Philip in turn chasing. He encounters a small girl who pulls out a device and makes Rowdy disappear. Her father also soon appears at the sound of commotion, and Rowdy soon reappears from the back of a nearby house. The situation however has Philip intrigued and he sets about staying in the town to find out just what is going on.
