The Prime Mover
Ace and Jimbo are partners in a roadside diner which is failiing due to competition. Their waitress Kitty stays loyal as Ace continues to lose mone on a gambling machine installed on the premises. When a car accident occurs outside, Jimbo uses telekenetic powers he has kept quiet to rescue the occupants. Back inside, Ace sees the opportunity for the three fo them to head to Las Vegas and win big. However, the trip risks putting a potential relationship for Ace and Kitty at risk.
A Piano in the House
Fitzgerald Fortune, a cruel and caustic persona who is a drama critic heads to a shop to purchase his twenty-six year old wife Esther a player piano. On receiving the device, Fitzgerald and Esther discover that when it is being played, it reveals the innermost thoughts of the player. When Fitzgerald discovers what his wife thinks of him, he is delighted and sets about using it at a party where he can find out what his guests are thinking. However, his aims end up revealing his own thoughts to everyone in attendance.
The Four of Us Are Dying
Arch Hammer is a con man who has the ability to change his face to appear like anyone he chooses. He gets into trouble by presenting himself as murdered gangster Virgil Sterig and attempting to extort money from his murderer; Mr. Pennell. Being chased by Pennell's men, he escapes by pretending to be boxer Andy Marshak and finds himself running into Marshak's father who despises his son for choices he made in life. The situation gets worse when Hammer is eventually taken into custody for questioning, before another encounter with Andy Marshak's father.
The Sixteen-Millimeter Shrine
Aging film star Barbara Jean Trenton spends her time reminiscing about her younger days and watching films she starred in from the 1930s. Her agent Danny Weiss tries and fails to bring her back to the real world with a part in a new movie, though even Danny's attempts to pair her with a former on-screen partner fails when she is horrified by his aged appearance after not seeing him for many years. Barbara instead can only wish to go back in time to a place when she believed she was happiest.
The Shelter
In a suburban community outside of New York City, physician Bill Stockton is attending his birthday party along with wife Grace and son Paul. Friends and neighbours are also in attendance, however the fun is interrupted by news that a nuclear attack is imminent. Bill and his family head to their bomb shelter while the friends and neighbours are left to fend for themselves despite there being enough room. The groups previous cordiality is replaced with desperation, anger, and hostility. However, Stockton wonders whether the group will manage to destroy themselves without the use of a bomb at all.
Young Man's Fancy
Henrietta Walker dies leaving her house to her son Alex who is recently married to Virginia. The pair head up to the houe to get it ready for sale, though while going through the belongings, Alex becomes engrossed in the memories he made as a child. His wife feels that Henrietta is vying for her son's attention. Things get worse when Henrietta reappears and Alex returns to being a child who demands that Viginia get out leaving her boy-husband behind with his returned mother.
Probe Seven Over and Out
Lone astronaut Colonel Adam Cook crash lands his spacecraft on a strange planet after a malfunction. The crash damages much of the ship, though he is able to maintain radio contact with home where nuclear war is about to break out. Cook soon begins to hear banging on the hull of the ship, but finds nothing but a tree branch despite there being no nearby vegetation. With the situation looking bleak and Cook making plans to survive as long as possible, he sets about exploring his new home which is also home to a woman named Carva.
Two
A soldier stumbles across a deserted town where she is looking for food. While in a kitchen, a man enters also wearing an enemy uniform which leads her to attack him, though he ultimately overcomes her by knocking her out. The man sets about waking her up realising that there is nothing in the town worth fighting for, though she remains wary of him. He however sets about trying to convince her to give up the fight, despite the language difference, and hopes to be given a chance.
Who Am I?
Glenn Holbrook awakens and doesn't recognise himself when looking in the mirror though his wife Claire fails to see anything wrong or different. Insisting he never had a scar on his cheek, his eyes are blue and not brown, and his facial structure is somehow different, Claire suggests he hasn't changed and he may be stressed from work. Glenn's colleagues also don't see any difference in his appearance, leading his boss to suggest counselling alongside Claire. At the counselling session, the counsellor suggests that Claire is unhappy and may be seeking a different husband.
The Bewitchin' Pool
Sport and Jeb Sharewood brother and sister who live with their wealthy parents but are somewhat mistreated. While sitting beside their pool, a young boy appears with the offer of transporting them to a better place. The pair follow and encounter a relaxed world though of as a childrens paradise, and looked after by the kindly Aunt T. The pair are faced with the choice of staying in the new world, or returning home to a promise of things being better as their parents decide on a divorce.
